Perfect Peace

Isaiah 26:3-4

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind in stayed upon you, because he trusts in you.  Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting God.

Abba,

YOU keep…

The power of protection and safekeeping is not from me, from those around me.  It is from you.

You keep him in perfect peace…

Not a false peace
Not a limited peace
Not a peace that pacifies for a moment
Not a peace that dulls the ache of fear and restlessness to a manageable (humanly speaking) level
BUT a PERFECT PEACE.

A safe haven.
A refuge.
A complete cessation of the raging tumult within.
A PERFECT PEACE.

You keep him in perfect peace…(and here's the condition) WHOSE MIND IS  STAYED UPON YOU.

Such a peace is only possible when…

He trusts in you

Perfect peace…this safe haven from the rage and violence of the storm within and without is only found when we TRUST in you.
This is a deliberate, purposeful act.  A choice.  A decision.
This is a act of surrender.  Of humility.  Of death to self.

Peace.  This perfect peace that our souls ache for, our hearts yearn for, our minds calculate for.  It is only found in surrender.  In trust.

Not just any trust.  Trust in You, Abba.

Why do we wrestle and struggle to trust one whose power is absolute, whose will is perfect and good, whose knowledge is not darkened by shadow, whose love is not clouded with ulterior motives, whose faithfulness is not abated?

Why do we doubt the everlasting God, the eternal rock?

Abba, that we would meditate on Your truth, rest in your arms, surrender to Your holiness and find in absolute truth, a PERFECT PEACE.

May our minds not rage but find peace; peace from the everlasting Rock.

We love you, Abba.

Amen.
