Hephzibah, like many rural churches, has a cemetery that began soon after the congregation moved from their original location in Newlin Township to their present location in 1793. A walk through the cemetery, reading the tombstones, will soon reveal that each grave site represents the history of an individual who was born, lived, and died. Some had notable accomplishments, some died very young, over 400 served in the military from the Revolutionary War to the present, and others have faded into oblivion save for family recollections or genealogy records. Each stone represents a soul for whom the Lord Jesus died and it would be our prayer that each one took advantage of the salvation that was so freely offered!
